MINRC...Who are we?
The Minorities in Natural Resources Committee (MINRC) is a standing committee of the
Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies(SEAFWA).
The committee consists of representatives from member organizations (state/federal/academia), natural resource administrators and managers, career professionals, human resource coordinators, students, and others interested in workplace diversity issues and opportunities for women and ethnic minorities in the fields of natural resources conservation and management.
OUR MISSION...
The mission of MINRC is assist state and federal natural resources agencies in efforts to eliminate the under-representation of minorities and women in professional natural resources occupations.
KEY GOALS AND OBJECTIVES...
• Facilitate communication among members of natural resource agencies and programs who are interested in enhancing the roles of minorities in natural resources;
• Enhance the knowledge of natural resource professionals regarding minorities and cultural diversity issues;
• Promote natural resource disciplines as viable career options for minorities and women; make students at all levels aware of internships, scholarships/grants and career employment opportunities at SEAFWA agencies and other natural resource organizations.
• Assist, support and recognize organizations that demonstrate positive leadership in developing programs aimed at recruiting, training, and retaining women and minorities in natural resource professional positions and programs.
